This site, zasciahugo.com, is the personal portfolio of Zascia Hugo, an individual based in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa ("I", "me"). I am the party responsible for the personal information processed through this site.

Information you provide. When you use the contact form, I collect your name, email address, subject line, and message content.

Information collected automatically. Standard technical information such as IP address, browser and device type, and pages visited, collected via hosting server logs and, only if you consent, Google Analytics.

3. How I Use Your Information

• - To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form.
• - To understand, only with your consent, how visitors use the site so I can improve it.
• - To maintain the security and proper functioning of the site.

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), I rely on your consent (for example, analytics cookies, or sending me a message) and, where relevant, my legitimate interest in keeping basic technical logs for security purposes.

5. Sharing of Information

I do not sell or rent your personal information.

I use a limited number of third-party service providers, namely my hosting/infrastructure provider and, only if you consent to analytics cookies, Google Analytics. Google Analytics may process data on servers outside South Africa; Google publishes its own safeguards for international data transfers.

6. Data Retention

Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to respond to and resolve your enquiry, and are deleted or archived securely thereafter.

Analytics data, where enabled, is retained according to Google Analytics' default retention settings.

7. Your Rights

Under POPIA, you have the right to access the personal information I hold about you, request its correction or deletion, object to its processing, withdraw consent at any time (for example, via Cookie Settings in the footer), and lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).

If you are visiting from outside South Africa, I aim to honour equivalent rights (such as those under the GDPR) on a best-efforts basis, as this is an individually-run personal website rather than a registered company with a dedicated compliance function.

8. Security

I take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information I hold, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
